Importance of words in Book theif

The book The Book Theif is esentually baised in many ways around the importance of words and how easilly we can be minipualted without even realising it. Marcus Zuzac uses elements of magical realisim to decieve his readers into beliving what is essentually lies to give us a real example of this minipulation in his book.

Relate to why he based his story in a fictional city

Marcus Zuzac based the book theif in a fictional city in Germany. His reason for doing this was to show us that when we are told something by people in power most of us genrally accept what we are told whithout questioning it espeschlly if the lie they tell us is incased in the truth such as Murcus Zuzac did by basing Molching off a real town in Germany. Hitler used the same techniuqe, he believed he could rise to power simply through the use of words and he proved himself right. After gathering a substantial following he strated to sujest his beliefs about minority races such as jews and homosexuals and since to his devoted followers he knew everything they imeditilly believed him. This continued untill he had all of Germany under his comand and your everyday german guy or girl not so differnt from you or me hated jews and believed every word of propaganda that he spoke. Those Germans that questioned his belefs and polices were weeded out and either sent off to fight or were killed.
